Tasting Notes
Blending Zinfandel from four vineyards in Dry Creek Valley creates a classic DCV Zin. Hints of black pepper weave through deep aromas of ripe blackberry mingled with subtle oak and earth notes. The buoyant acidity and solid structure form the backbone of the wine, while the delicious flavors take center stage. Balanced, dark tones of spicy black raspberry merge with traces of dried strawberry and blackberry, while pepper notes appear mid-palate and linger long in to the finish.
Vineyard Notes
Though most of our Zinfandels are made from Dry Creek Valley grapes, our Dry Creek blend, as we refer to it, is a wine that we hope reflects the overall Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel terroir, as opposed to a single-vineyard character. Selecting five vineyards (Funsten, Bradford Mountain Estate, Bernier, Forchini, and West) located throughout the appellation, gives us a cross section of soil types and microclimates within Dry Creek Valley that are reflected in the flavors.
Food Pairing Notes
This easy-sipping Zin is the perfect match for Bison burgers, your favorite pizza or sausage-stuffed flank steak.
