A first bottling of Malbec from our mountaintop vines. In 2015, a year more known for a shortage of grapes, we had a decent supply of this ripe varietal from our Estate Vineyard. We blended 75% Malbec with 25% Petit Verdot to create two barrels of a delicious, velvety wine, expressive of grape and location.

Tasting Notes
Our inaugural Malbec reflects the terroir of Bradford Mountain while showcasing the beauty of this varietal. Deep aromas of cherry and dark berry fuse with crushed stone and brown spices. The smooth entry reveals an inviting blend of mineral-infused wild blackberry, dried cherry and black currant. A rich coffee essence laces through the savory palate, joining traces of earth, cedar and dark chocolate. Fresh acidity buoys the flavors, supporting them to linger on.
Food Pairing Notes
This hearty yet elegant wine begs for complementary fare. Try it with a Tomahawk Ribeye steak, or slow-braised lamb shanks over creamy polenta.

The marriage of these two Bordeaux varietals is a unique combination and presents a compelling and rich wine. Fully-ripened Petit Verdot offers somewhat of a different purpose than in France where it is often not fully ripened when introduced to a blend to add depth and flavors at a much smaller percentage. Here it seems to be completing the palate and extending out the Malbec's dark fruits. A beautiful wine with long-term aging potential but awesome after being open one day now.
