2008 Peterson Winery Vignobles

The 2008 Vignobles is 55% Petite Sirah and 15% each Carignane, Zinfandel and Syrah. It is a serious wine endowed with layers of dark fruit, grilled herbs, black pepper and leather that flow in an authoritative, muscular style. This intense, bold red shows fabulous balance from start to finish. It is a fascinating wine that will require some patience. The Vignobles spent 22 months in oak, 55% new American barrels, 30% neutral American and French barrels and 15% new Hungarian barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023.

2008 Peterson Winery Syrah Gravity Flow Block Bradford Mt Vineyard

The 2008 Syrah Gravity Flow Block Bradford Mt. Vineyard is a huge powerful red loaded with dark fruit, scorched earth, smoke and leather. The massive tannins give the wine a brooding personality and less finesse than the Vignobles. In 2008 the blend is 92% Syrah, 7% Viognier and 1% Petite Sirah that spent 22 months in French oak barrels, 40% new. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023.
